Carefully read through and familiarize yourself with the procedures and general information related to the Project Development as WEB Developer
LAUNCHPAD is our online Development Portal and is accessible from the Website top menu.
When you login with your user details you will get access to a Dashboard where you will see your appointed tasks and get access to the actual Startup Project.
MILESTONES | PHASES | TASKS
The project consists of Milestones, Phases and Tasks that are updated by the developers as they progress through their tasks. The client will be able to track the entire development process.
Please update each task as you progress through the work and indicate the percentage covered at the end of your development session.
When done – mark as complete.
Launch Your Startup strives to provide its clients with the highest standard of professionalism, products and services.
We expect that all Developers deliver a high standard of work that supercede the expectations of our clients.
Developers that exceed their deadlines or provide a low quality work will receive less or no future work and have their Development Contract terminated.
The Project Manager of each Startup Project will lead each project and is responsible in making sure that all Developers stay on tract with the development and deliver the highest quality of work. Please contact your Project Developer should you have any questions, issues or recommendations related to the project.
We also request that you provide your full cooperation and assistance to your appointed Project Manager where possible.
Please refer to the Project Schedule and Deadlines section.
Each Project will officially start once the client has submitted the Project Development Questionnaire and forms needed for company registration.
We normally allocate 5 to 7 days for the client to submit the questionnaire from the date that you receive your project notification before we will officially start with the Project Development.
In the beginning of the Development Project the client completes and submits an extensive Business Development Questionnaire containing all aspects of his/her business ideas and other information related to development and design aspects of the business.
The Final Development Questionnaire will be made available to all Developers within the Development Project on LAUNCHPAD
Launch Your Startup make use of WordPress Templates from Themeforest.net for most of its Website Development.
Browse through the already Purchased Templates to find a suitable Website Template for the customer.
Should you not be able to find a suitable Website Template from the already purchased Temples below – go to Themeforest.net and search for a Template with the layout and components already included in the Template that will work closest to the Client’s needs.
We make use of a Communication Ticket System that is accessible from within each project. The ticket system allows for tracking the communication between the client and developers securely.
With every new project a dedicated ticket is created for each developer so that the client can address a specific developer.
You and the client will also be able to upload a wide variety of file types to a specific ticket conversation as desired.
Keep all conversations professional, short and to the point to prevent the customer to abuse the ticket system to engage into premature sample delivery.
Once a ticket has been submitted, you will receive an email notification. You can either reply to the message or go to the online ticket from within the project.
To find the ticketes related to you simply do a search with your name.
Once you join the Launch Your Startup Development Team you will be issued with your own Email Account that you will need to setup and use for the Development purposes only.
Use the email setup instructions sent to you by email.
No email communication is allowed between Developer and Client and for that purpose you need to use the Project Ticket System.
At the start of a Project, a dedicated WhatsApp Project Group will be created with only the Developers assigned to the group.
This allows for quick and effective correspondence between Developers. Please make sure you read through all correspondence that comes through on the group.
Developers are not allowed to send any messages to each other outside the group.
WhatsApp group messages can be muted for those that do not wish to be disturbed after hours.
It is eminent that Developers adhere to deadline as it is the biggest USP (Unique Selling Proposition) of Launch Your Startup.
Note that you may finish or deliver your work any time earlier than the expected deadline and possibly start with a next project should it be the case.
Each project’s original and final designs, documents and forms will be delivered within a Google Docs Folder created within the New Startup’s Google Account.
The Main Document Folder will be shared with all the Developers once it is created. You will therefore need to provide your Google Account Name for this purpose.
All sample designs will be shared on the project page by uploading the images or documents using the document uploads button at the bottom of the relevant phase.
You can use the Comment section underneath the Upload Button to provide any explanations.
Once again only upload and provide samples at project cutt off times and not earlier or later.
The following things that are not allowed to be done as a Developer:
Follow these guidelines for the development of the Website
Launch Your Startup pridominantly make use of WordPress Templates with already included components and plugins closest to the customers needed functionality, layout, look at feel. Most of THEMEFOREST’s Templates are current, modern, SEO flriendly and build on boodstrap. Go to THEMEFOREST’s and start your search.
Choose two suitable Templates that you will need to discuss with your Project Manager before implimentation and installation.
When searching for a suitable template the following guidelines can be implimented:
When searching for a suitable template make sure the template adhere to the following requirements:
SUGGESTION
When you get a Template with a great layout try to incorporate the Cleint’s details and content using the existing layout to save time and creativity as uppose to start wtih an empty page.
Launch Your Startup only builds Action Driven, Conversion Websites meaning it is not just an information website but needs to convert leads into customer and should have some kind of action function (call to action):
Make sure that the call to actions are present throughout the site at the correct location and when it is required.
The site needs to education, answer questions, overcome objections and lead the customer to the next step in the conversion process.
Presented the two chosen WordPress Templates to your Project Manager and discuss why the specific Template will work best.
The project Manager will then request the Launch Your Startup Inhouse Web Technitian to (purchase the Template and) install WordPress on the already registered domain, FTP the Template onto the server and prepare the site for further Development:
Development is done on the live server hosted with Hetzner.
Often the WordPress Template does not include all the components required for the Client’s site.
Launch Your Startup has got already purchased components and plugins from various third party developers that include but does not exclude the following:
Should a required component not come with the Template do a search for a component under “New Plugins” and search for a suitable plugin or component to install.
Most of the free plugins will work for the Startup’s basic requirements and if not Launch Your Startup will purchase the component only if the component was either tested or proven to be the most suitable component for the client’s use.
In this case please contact your Project Manager for Authorisation.
Most of the WordPress Templates has got a Page Builder component included. Most of them include WPBakery Page Builder Component.
Make sure the site has got a page builder included to make development and future adjustments by the customer easy and convenient.
If the Template does not have a page builder installed please request our Web Technicians to install a registered version.
Please make sure you keep the site structure, pages and articles tidy by naming the pages and slugs properly for easy search and navigation.
Page Headers, Slugs and Sub Headings is essential for SEO.
Keep it relevant and make use of heading style text selections for Main and Sub Headings and do not simply choose a larger font.
Try and use Theme-based header elements for Main and Sub headings as far as possibe.
Most of the Template’s provide rich web layouts with existing text and image setions when you import the sample data.
Try and utilize existing section and element layouts to incorporate the Client’s content and data than to build pages from scratch.
That will speed up the development process and help with creativity.
Always test your layouts on mobile devices.
As you know with Web Layout – LESS IS MORE!
Even though customers may request many pages in their initial approach what the user experience needs to be minimalistic.
Where you are working on a One-Page or Multi-page Website try and keep the Main Menu Titles ONE WORDED and short as possible.
Incorporate feature menu items like Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Contact etc. in a bottom site menu.
Keep the Website Footer Section Clean and Simple.
Details that you can display in the footer:
Use the following text to add to the most bottom footer section that needs to link to the site:
Website Build By: Launch Your Startup – 2018
Optimise the site display by using the Template Options Settings usually found under Appearance.
Also check for other settngs that needs to be optimize from within the Theme Oprtions.
During initial Site Installation and Setup Launch Your Startup will install and activate a simple Website Maintenance Mode Plugin.
Leave this plugin activated during the entire Development Phase. Once the site is ready for inspection the Client will get access to the site to make recommendations where needed.
Only once the project is signed off will the site be made available to the public.
Customer Experience and User Flow is of utmost importance for al Launch Your Startup’s Websites.
WEBSITE FLOW
The principle is simple. Any customer that lands on a particular page needs to be able to ask themselves “What do I want to know next”
Do NOT implement and Call to Actions on the top or middle sections of web pages – this will drive them to another page before they have read or experience the current page.
Keep it short and simple and only add content that is relevant to the page.
Try not to repeat content that is on another section.
Eliminate long text paragraph sections.
An Image say a 1000 words – If the text is at the side of a picture of a person, flip the image so it faces the text.
Try not to overuse effects. Do not use slide-in or appearing effects on page loads.
Please do use effects on icons where possible.

We install a component called UAM User Group where you can specify user access and control of each and every parameter of each installed component on the site.
